1400 Horsepower on the Apostle Islands

Boat Tour. Apostle Islands, Wisconsin. Day.

Husband and Wife are standing on the rear of the boat. The Tour Guide is reeling off facts about the boat they are on, the tour they are taking, and the history of the islands they are viewing.

Wife: Did he say there are two engines with 700 horsepower each on this boat?

Husband: Yep.

Husband and Wife stare at the widening wake triangulating from the rear of the boat.

Wife: That's 1400 horses powering this boat.

Husband: Yeah. I don't buy it. I didn't see a single horse at the marina.

Wife: Me neither. Plus horses can't run on water. They would drown.

Husband: I'm sure the good captain meant seahorses.
