I am going to take some time here to thank a close friend of mine for all he has done for me. His picture is below. I'm sure you will all recognize him. He may even have spent some time at your house. Over the past years he’s the one I’ve turned to when it’s brutally cold outside, when I’ve returned home after an eight, twelve, or sixteen hour shift, and when hunger has racked my ribs.
When I come in from the cold and peel away the layers of jackets, hats, gloves, and sweatshirts, he’s been there, inviting me to warm up with a hot cup of steaming soup, braised meat, or curried vegetables. I can always count on him to brighten my day, even if I’m arriving home in the 3am darkness.
Here’s to you, friend. Thanks for all you do. We'll see you at the bowling alley.
Maybe tonight you'll bowl that perfect game.
